Why Late Fall Is a Good Time to Plan New Floors
In the Denver area, early November is when homes start to fill up. Windows are closed, the heat is on and the holidays are on the calendar. If a bedroom, hallway or living room has been waiting on a new floor, this is a practical time to decide on it, because a finished floor in place before guests arrive makes the whole house feel ready.
Laminate is one of the options we install most for busy rooms, and it fits well with a holiday timeline. It gives you the look of wood plank, and the click and lock style of install floats over the subfloor, which keeps the job straightforward.
Why Laminate Suits Busy Living Spaces
A wood look for everyday rooms
Laminate gives you the look of wood plank in living rooms, bedrooms and hallways. If you want warm color and clean lines underfoot without moving to a different kind of floor, it is a good place to start the conversation.
Click and lock installation
Many laminate floors use a click and lock system, so the planks connect to each other and float over the subfloor. We prep the floor, lay it out and install it so the lines run true from one room to the next.
Clean transitions and edges
Where a floor meets a doorway, a wall or another surface is where a job shows its care. Our team sets transitions and edges so the finished floor looks complete, not just the middle of the room.
What to Think About Before You Call
A few simple questions help us give you useful answers right away:
- Which rooms are you hoping to cover, and are they connected so the floor can run through?
- What do you want the room to feel like: lighter and brighter, or warmer and darker?
- Is there a date you would like the floor finished by, such as a family visit or a holiday gathering?
- Are you comparing laminate with other floors?
You do not need exact measurements to get started. Tell us about the space and we will talk through the best floor for each room.
Laminate Compared With Other Floors
Laminate is not the only choice, and we are happy to help you compare. We also install vinyl flooring, hardwood flooring and engineered flooring, and we refinish existing hardwood. If you are not sure which direction fits, our earlier post explains what engineered flooring is, and our fall refinishing guide covers what to look for if you already have hardwood.
How the Process Works
Every laminate job follows the same simple path. First we check the space, looking at the subfloor and the rooms to plan the layout. Next the surface is cleaned and made ready for the new flooring. Then the planks are laid and locked in place with tight seams. Finally, transitions and trim details are set, and we walk through the finished floor with you. You can read more on our laminate flooring installation page.
